Xi’s reply to all comrades of Sichuan revolutionary disabled servicemen’s sanatorium

On October 21, Beijing, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Chinese people’s Volunteer Army’s war abroad to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea, Xi, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, state president and President, recently wrote back to all comrades of Sichuan revolutionary disabled servicemen’s rest home, expressing sincere greetings to them. In his reply, Xi said that in the war of resistance against U.S. aggression and aid Korea, the Chinese people’s Volunteer Army carried forward the spirit of great patriotism and revolutionary heroism, marched forward bravely and fought bravely and made important contributions to the protection of the country. The party and the people will never forget the contributions of the volunteers and their heroes and models. Xi pointed out that over the past 60 years, you have adhered to the principle of loving, believing in and following the party, actively participated in patriotic education and national defense education activities, and continued to contribute to the party and the people, demonstrating the spirit of unremitting determination and continuous struggle. Xi stressed that the Chinese nation is a nation of heroes, and the new era is an era of heroes. The whole Party and the whole society should advocate, learn from and care for heroes, vigorously carry forward the spirit of heroes, and gather the great power to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Sichuan revolutionary disabled servicemen’s rest home was founded in 1951, which provided more than 2800 disabled soldiers, including about 2200 who participated in the war of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea. Over the past 60 years, the disabled servicemen of our hospital have overcome the difficulties unimaginable by ordinary people, and make contributions to the construction of the motherland. Nearly 10000 reports on traditional education have been made, with an audience of more than 3 million, which has produced positive social repercussions. In 2019, the hospital was honored as the “national model unit for veterans”. Recently, on behalf of all the disabled soldiers, Tu Boyi, an old volunteer soldier of the hospital, wrote to President Xi, reporting on his work and life, expressing his determination to keep his original heart in mind, keep his mission in mind, keep his true colors, and continue to contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
