Moroccan police seized 2.36 tons of products

Rabat, November 20, Morocco’s National Security Bureau issued a communique on November 20, saying that police seized 2.36 tons of products in Casablanca, the largest city of Morocco, on the evening of 19. According to the communique, 2.36 tons of products were found hidden in five containers during a routine inspection at Casablanca port. The containers were originally planned to be shipped to a sub Saharan country by sea. The situation of illegal cultivation in some areas of Morocco is serious, and most of the products are smuggled to Europe. Over the past 10 years, Moroccan security authorities have stepped up efforts to crack down on planting and product trading, seizing about 179 tons of products in 2019 alone.
