European NCAP: low driver participation of Tesla automatic driving assistance system

Recently, European NCAP released the test results of new road driving assistance system. A total of 10 models were tested this time. Among them, the driving assistance system of Tesla Model 3 was pointed out to be low in driver participation. < / P > < p > the 10 models tested are Audi Q8, BMW 3 series, Mercedes Benz gle, Volvo V60, Volkswagen Passat, Peugeot 2008, Nissan juke, Ford Kuga, Renault Clio and Tesla Model 3. The test items are the auxiliary ability of the automatic driving assistance system, the participation of the driver, and the response of the vehicle in the emergency. Results will be evaluated through a unique scoring system, and can be divided into four levels: entry, intermediate, good, very good. < / P > < p > while Tesla Model 3 only got the “medium” rating, because the driver’s participation in the automatic driving assistance system is low. According to foreign media reports, U.S. regulators have investigated 15 accidents involving Tesla’s automatic driving assistance system since 2016, and concluded that the driver’s line of sight is completely off the road when using the system. And Matthew Avery, a member of the European NCAP board, said: it’s very dangerous to give too much control to vehicles that are not ready to deal with all the road conditions.
