New Delhi, August 7, a massive landslide in Kerala, India, killed at least 15 people and buried another 50. At present, the search and rescue work has started. As many people are buried, the death toll is likely to continue to rise. According to the Hindustan Times, landslides occurred on the 7th in rajakad Town, Iduki Prefecture, Kerala State, due to the loose geology caused by continuous rainstorms. The town is located in the hilly area, where about 80 people live. Due to the early morning of the incident, most people could not escape in time because they were sleeping. Local officials said 15 bodies have been found and more than a dozen people have been rescued. Search and rescue work is in progress.
